MISS RHEINGOLD CONCLUDES:
HIGHER and
HIGHER!
When I was very
young and had to swim(or wanted to) in deep waters, I chose to slow my pace at
first, but soon realized it would be best to be faster, albeit with a steady
stroke, but one that I could maintain.
My thoughts
were to make the arrival more important than form, as well as to keep a steady
pace by keeping my eyes both in front of me and alternating them in the
direction of my landing.
These past
months, and I expect the months to come as well, I have been calculating the
far off shore to be nearer than I had supposed. My pace, therefore, has
quickened. All right, if I must, the term "bucket list" does come in
handy! Remember, an occasional cliché (from a past blog) is to be allowed!
I have hastened
to organize both near and far term plans so as not to allow them too much space
for the future! Horizons---ah that old time word----we used it so freely to
dream, to wax poetic.
I have been reviewing
occasions to be celebrated in the near future and am fixing ideas into plans
so as "to
get it all in" before the final horizon! No, not macabre, just
practical to keep an even stroke a bit faster, to reach the shore before I
am to be swept away!
I am reading
the books that have been on my list---not for too long now--- only ones by my
favorite important authors.
Life has become
brighter----more illuminated--- with keen recognition of details and duties.
Instead of
being sad about it, all has become higher and higher---brighter and brighter.
Worth thinking
over even if you are not yet at my stage!
Higher and
higher-----worth the time and the climb-----whereto for you?
I have two
major journeys planned for this year. They include visits.

HIGHER---worth the time for the climb
